MAJOR GENERAL MD MASUD REZWAN, OSP, PSC. retired as Director General, Department of Immigration and Passports and before that he was Project Director Machine Readable Passport (MRP) & Machine Readable Visa (MRV) under Home Ministry.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
More than 36 years of experience in the multilateral and bilateral organizations,in the Government sectors of Bangladesh, Bangladesh Army and in International arena. A vast experience of serving as Instructor in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering School and Bangladesh University of Professionals as DEAN. An exceptional contribution in the production process and Industrial chain of Bangladesh Ordnance Factory. Successful mentoring of Electrical and Medical equipment in Combined Military Hospital. Praiseworthy contributions in the nation building as a reputed diplomat by rendering services in the Department of Immigration and Passports of the Government of Bangladesh. An exclusive presence in the need of the nation being involved in the Enrolment of Rohingya Crisis (Myanmar Nationals) and completing the Registration including Biometrics. Successful Implementation of the Machine Readable Passports ,Machine Readable VISA in time. Also implemented most modern digital ePassport Project including eGates in the immigration check post. Also introduced and planned details manufacturing systems of ePassport in Bangladesh.
Provided regular repair and maintenance support to all types of equipment (Vehicles, Gun, APC, Signal Equipment, Armaments, Medical Equipment etc)as an expert Engineer and Advisor in different field units of Bangladesh Army. Commanded a number of units as Independent Commander and Chief advisor of the formation units for Electrical and Mechanical engineering support. Direct involvement in the Tank Refurbishment and Modification Project.
Directly involved with the designing, manufacturing, productions and test firing procedures of Hand Grenade Arges BD-84 in Bangladesh Ordnance Factory (BOF). After receiving the precision training from Serbia, successful implementation could be brought out with flawless effort. Designing And Manufacturing of Rifle BD-08 for Bangladesh Army: Had remarkable success in the designing, production and test firing of Rifle BD-08 in Bangladesh Ordnance factory. Was the mentor of designing the 7.62 by 39 mm ball ammunition for rifle BD-84 and related test firing and other trial and error process related to it.
PROJECT DIRECTOR MRP & MRV:
Worked MRP & MRV project as Project Director for three years where the project were successfully implemented in 70 Regional Office in Bangladesh and 72 foreign missions in different embassies in different countries.Direct supervision, guidance and mandatory intelligence could make it a successful project.
DIRECTOR GENERAL (DG), DEPARTMENT OF IMMIGRATION OF PASSPORT:
Served 3 years as DG (Director General), DIP with full dedication, honesty and sincerity to uphold the image of the department. Introduced the online banking system for smooth collection of passport fees. Introduced online passport form filling for avoiding the unlawful financial exercise of the local brokers.
ROHINGYA (MYANMAR NATIONALS) REGISTRATION WORKS:
Total 1.12 million Rohingyas were registered within 6 months which includes collecting their photos, ten finger print impressions, addresses and signature of every individuals. The aim of this data collection was to integrate it with the main database of DIP to avoid any Passport enrolment effort by the Rohingyas.
IMPLEMENTATION E-PASSPORT PROJECT:
On 19 July 2018 as DG, DIP signed the ePassport and Automated Border Control Management project with German Government on G2G basis. Heavy volume spec was completed by DG and his team without taking any consultant from outside. In the project following things are included:
